To our BC Eventing Community

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Horse Trials BC, and given the unprecedented circumstances we currently find ourselves in, I wanted to check in with everyone . I hope you are all staying safe at home. If you are one of the amazing grocery store employees, truckers, health care workers or any of the other people who are working to serve us all during these times, we thank you and truly appreciate all you are doing. If you are one of the many individuals whose income has been reduced due to this pandemic and need financial assistance for your household and/or the care of your horses, we encourage you to reach out to both governments, the federal Canadian Emergency Relief Benefit, and provincial BC Financial Support for Covid 19 , and apply for the benefits available to you. It is in times like this we need to remember our neighbours and friends in the Eventing community. Please take a minute to check in with each other. Follow the latest equestrian news and information on the Horse Council BC website, www.hcbc.ca. Stay in touch with your Eventing community by following Horse Trials BC on Twitter, our website www.horsetrialsbc.com , and joining our Facebook Page. Please email , phone, or facetime your friends and loved ones, and stay in touch with your Eventing community. We are all here to help each other, and in doing so we will all get through this together. This is the strength we have built in our community, the amazing network of people who are supportive by their very nature and help each other.

While we are currently experiencing a spring with no clinics or Events, we are also surrounded by the little positive moments. Where possible, enjoy the extra time to give our horses a little more attention, a bit more brushing, or the ability to find a piece of sunshine to sit in and soak up the heat in the rays. Let's appreciate these moments we are given and share a little gratitude during these strange and sad times.

It is my hope that we will be able to celebrate together again soon. Until then, please look after each other and stay safe and healthy.

In light of the latest developments in the COVID-19 crisis, Horse Trials BC has made the difficult decision to cancel our clinic, scheduled to be held at Johvale, April 17th to 19th, 2020. We feel that this is the sensible and responsible thing to do in light of the world crisis. We are in the process of cancelling flights for Rebecca and Kendal and will hope to have them teach at a clinic in 2021. We had considered trying to reschedule the clinic in late May but in light of the uncertainty surrounding this virus, we have determined that is not an option.

Anyone who has already paid for the April clinic will be refunded in full but please allow us some time to make that happen. Horse Trials BC is sorry for any inconvenience that this cancellation has caused. Please stay safe everyone and be kind and considerate to those around you.

Message from Horse Trials BC Education Committee - regarding the Spring Clinic at Johvale – April 17th to 19th.

We are keeping a very close watch on the news regarding the Corona Virus – COVID-19. Due to travel restrictions and health concerns it may become necessary to make some adjustments to our scheduled clinicians and in the worst case scenario, cancel the clinic.

We would encourage you to continue sending in your clinic applications with the assurance that if we have to cancel the clinic due to the virus, your fees will be refunded. HTBC will continue to monitor the situation, we will follow advisories from health and government officials and proceed with the consideration for the health and safety of our members first and foremost. Stay tuned for further updates as they unfold.
